In New York, detective Billy Taggart goes to trial for murder of abuser Mikey Tavarez, but Mayor Nicholas Hostetler and police chief Karl Fairbanks disappear with Billy important test and was declared not guilty by the judge, but leaves the police. Seven years later, Billy is a private detective who lives his girlfriend Natalie Barrow, who is aspiring actress and sister of the victim's mothers.
